CAST: Helen (a person), Danny (a puppet)

SCENE: Helen enters and begins addressing the audience.

HELEN: Boys and girls, I'd like you to meet a very special friend of mine. (LOOKING AT STAGE) Danny, come say hello to everyone.

DANNY: (POPS UP) Hello, everyone.

HELEN: Danny, today we're going to talk about how God made the world. I'll give you hints, and you tell me what He made.

DANNY: Okay, that sounds like fun.

HELEN: On the first day God created something that makes the night and the day. Here's the hint. (TURN LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF.) Okay, Danny. You tell them.

DANNY: (SCRATCHING HEAD) I've got the idea! The lightbulb!

HELEN: Danny, God didn't need the light bulb. God just made the light and the dark. I thought you were going to help me.

DANNY: I am, but that one was tricky.

HELEN: Well ... on the second day, God made something that we couldn't live without.

DANNY: (INTERRUPTING) Candy bars!

HELEN: No! Wait for the clue. Here it is. (HELEN BREATHES IN AND OUT RAPIDLY.) Well? (GASP)

DANNY: Oh, Helen! You had better calm down and get a breath of fresh air!

HELEN: (EXCITEDLY) That's it!

DANNY: What's it?

HELEN: Air!

DANNY: Really?

HELEN: Yes. Now on the third day God made something that you drink when you're hot and thirsty.

DANNY: Dr. Pepper? (HELEN SHAKES HEAD NO) Lemonade? (HELEN SHAKES HEAD NO AGAIN) Iced tea?

HELEN: Here's the hint, Danny. (HOLDS UP, GLASS WITH WATER) What's this?

DANNY: A glass.

HELEN: That's not what I mean. What's in the glass?

DANNY: Oh, water.

HELEN: Right. Here's the clue for what God made on the fourth day. (HELEN PUTS ON SUNGLASSES.)

DANNY: You're trying to fool me! He didn't make sunglasses!

HELEN: Why do I have sunglasses on?

DANNY: I don't know. You're only supposed to wear them when you're in the sun.

HELEN: That's it-the sun. And He also made the moon and stars. On the fifth day and sixth day He made (HELEN FLAPS HER ARMS LIKE WINGS, SNORTS LIKE A PIG AND MAKES OTHER ANIMAL NOISES, WHILE WAITING FOR DANNY TO ANSWER.)

DANNY: (TO AUDIENCE) She sounds like she came out of the zoo.

HELEN: You're close. What's in a zoo?

DANNY: Animals. Everybody knows that.

HELEN: And that's what God made on the fifth and sixth day. He also made something else really special on the sixth day (POINTS TO HERSELF AND THEN DANNY).

DANNY: Clothes?

HELEN: People! Can't you get anything right? I've tried to give you some hints, but there's no hope! I've got to take a rest.

DANNY: Oh, okay, since that's what God did on the seventh day.

(HELEN GROANS AND EXITS.)

DANNY: (TO AUDIENCE) Let's see if you can remember what God made.

(DANNY REPEATS THE HINTS.) (HAVE THE CHILDREN ANSWER.)
