It's just what you need for a fully mobile, fully portable puppet performance. Made for one puppeteer, the Strolling Stage is perfect for park ministries, parades, street fairs, block parties, or even visiting classroom to classroom. Add clown shoes and let the stage become a performer! Because the stage is worn by the performer with a unique harness, the puppet show is as mobile as you are! And because you are fully hidden from view, you can perform fully surrounded without compromising the secrets of puppetry. Made of lightweight PVC and fabric, the Strolling Stage weighs just 11 lbs and fits through all but the smallest doorways. This is a great attention-getter! Comes as shown with red/yellow striped sides and purple roof curtain (plus yellow flag for on top). All necessary frame parts and instructions are included. Assembly required. (Puppet and feet not included).
*** Colors may vary slightly due to dye lots and individual monitor nuance.

Assembly of the PVC frame is required and will take about one hour to complete. Once the custom fabric "skin" is in place, you may find it most convenient to store your Strolling Stage fully assembled. It will be a invaluable tool for your ministry or business.

Sorry, we do not sell or give away plans to build your own. We have built an awful lot of these terrific stages. Trust us when we tell you that it's worth every penny to have someone else engineer and cut all the pieces for you! (You still get to assemble the parts yourself!)

NOTE: The Strolling Stage was designed for wearers from about 5'6" - 6'2" tall. If your standing height is shorter than this, you will need to make some modification to the curtain.
For permanent shortening:

  • Turn the curtain inside out.

  • Separate the decorative scallop at the bottom hem. (Either use a seam ripper or carefully cut it off.)

  • Measure the desired length of curtain to be removed. Make a mark 1/2 inch below this line to allow for a sewing seam.

  • Carefully cut off in a straight line along your seam allowance mark.

  • Re-attach the decorative scallop.

For temporary shortening:
(This will result in a horizontal "flap" running all the way around your Strolling Stage.)

  • Turn the curtain inside out.

  • Measure about 12 inches from the bottom seam (or whatever distance you prefer a flap to appear on the outside the finished curtain) and make a temporary mark at that distance all around the main curtain.

  • Determine how much shorter you want the working stage curtain to be.

  • Go to a point below your mark that is exactly HALF the distance of your total desired shortage. Pinch the fabric at that lower point and pull it up to meet your original mark. (This creates a fold.)

  • Safety pin the folded fabric in place at your mark.

  • Repeat until you have reduced the length of the curtain all the way around. We recommend at least two safety pins in each stripe. (And don't forget you now have pins in your stage so be careful!)
